Use the following inputs and settings. Keep other settings at the page defaults.

Item Value
Input 123456789018
kind mynumber
Output ✓ 1234 5678 9018 — valid My Number
Output Check digit: 1×6 + 2×5 + 3×4 + 4×3 + 5×2 + 6×7 + 7×6 + 8×5 + 9×4 + 0×3 + 1×2 = 212
Output 212 ÷ 11 = 19 remainder 3 → 11 − 3 = 8 ✓
Output A correct check digit only means the number is well-formed; it doesn’t mean the number exists or belongs to anyone. Nothing is sent anywhere: the check runs in your browser.

Expected result — ✓ 1234 5678 9018 — valid My Number

How it works

  1. Paste one number a line; dots, dashes and spaces are fine.
  2. Each is checked for its length and its check digits.
  3. The result shows each step of the calculation, and where a number fails.

Frequently asked questions

How is the My Number check digit calculated?
The first eleven digits are multiplied, in order, by 6 5 4 3 2 7 6 5 4 3 2 and summed; 11 minus the remainder of the sum divided by 11 is the check digit, or 0 when the remainder is 0 or 1.
Should I type my real number here?
It never leaves your browser — but a My Number is sensitive, so check only what you must.
Does a valid check digit mean the number exists?
No — only that it is correctly written. Whether it was issued, and to whom, only the issuing authority can say. The checker never makes up numbers either: it checks the ones you type.
Is anything uploaded?
No. The check is worked out in your browser, and nothing you type leaves your computer.
