Example

Example: five years at a firm in Izmir, and why turning 50 raised the leave to 20 days

Mark started at a company in Izmir on 01.09.2021, was born on 20.05.1974 and has taken 50 days of leave so far. His gross pay is 75,000 TL a month. As of 01.10.2026 the calculator lists every anniversary and what it brought.

  1. Leave is earned at each anniversary of the start date: 01.09.2022 to 01.09.2026, five so far.
  2. Up to five years of service the law gives 14 days, but at least 20 at 50 or older. Mark turned 50 on 20.05.2024, so from the 3rd anniversary each year brings 20.
  3. Earned: 14 + 14 + 20 + 20 + 20 = 88 days. Minus the 50 taken, 38 are left.
  4. Each day left is valued at a thirtieth of the monthly gross: 75,000 ÷ 30 = 2,500 TL, × 38 days = 95,000 TL gross.
Anniversary Year of service Age Days
01.09.2022 14814
01.09.2023 24914
01.09.2024 35020
01.09.2025 45120
01.09.2026 55220

88 days earned, 38 left, worth 95.000,00 TL gross; next on 01.09.2027, 20 days. Without the date of birth the same job shows 70 days earned and only 20 left, so enter it if you were 18 or younger, or 50 or older, at any anniversary.

How it works

  1. Enter the start of the job.
  2. Add the date of birth for the 20-day minimum at 18 or 50.
  3. Enter the days already taken.
  4. Add the gross wage to see what the days left are worth.

Frequently asked questions

How many days?
14 up to five years of service, 20 from over five to under fifteen, 26 from fifteen; at least 20 at 18 or younger and 50 or older.
When is the first leave earned?
At the end of the first year of service, on the anniversary of the start date. Before that the calculator says it is not yet a year; from then on every anniversary adds that year’s days, and the next one is shown with its date.
Do weekends and public holidays count as leave days?
No. Weekly rest days and public holidays that fall inside the leave are not taken off it (Labour Act art. 56). The calculator counts the days you are entitled to, not the calendar days you are away.
What happens to unused leave when the job ends?
The days not taken are paid (art. 59). Enter the gross wage and the calculator values each day left at a thirtieth of the monthly gross: 38 days at 75,000 TL a month are 95,000 TL gross.
Will it match my payslip?
It applies the statutory rates; allowances, incentives or a different running total change the payslip.
Is anything I enter sent anywhere?
No. It is worked out in your browser.
