Example
Example: an AGM notice to three neighbours in DL envelopes, postcode on its own line
The secretary of a residents’ association posts the AGM notice, an A4 letter folded in three, in DL envelopes (110 × 220 mm). Paper “DL envelope”; Your name “Anna Smith”, Your address “2 Church Green” and “Anytown” on two lines, Your postcode “AN2 6HJ”. All names and addresses are made up.
- Paste the three addresses as blocks: the name, then each address line, the postcode last, with an empty line between people.
- In each block the first line is the name and every line under it is printed as you typed it, so the postcode stays on its own last line, as UK addresses are written.
- The address starts 42 % of the way across the envelope, about 92 mm from the left edge, halfway down. The return address is small in the top left corner, 12 mm in from the edge.
- Print one test envelope at 100 %. If it lands a few millimetres off, nudge it (−5 to +5 mm, in half-millimetre steps) and print the rest.
| Envelope | Lines printed, top to bottom |

envelopes-3.pdf: three pages the size of a DL envelope, one address each. Envelopes never carry the free plan’s footer line, and up to 500 addresses go into one PDF.
How it works
- Choose DL, C5 or US #10.
- Paste the addresses: the name and then the address lines, with an empty line between people.
- Add your return address, printed in the top left corner.
- Download and print at 100 % with the envelopes in the envelope slot.
Frequently asked questions
- Can I paste from Excel or Google Sheets?
- Yes: rows copied from a spreadsheet arrive tab-separated, and each row becomes one envelope, with the name taken from the last column.
- The address is a few millimetres off. What can I do?
- Printers feed envelopes slightly differently. Use the nudge settings to move everything left, right, up or down, then print again.
- Where does the postcode or ZIP code go?
- Where you type it: every line under the name is printed in the order you give. A UK postcode goes on its own last line; a US address has the city, state and ZIP code on one line (Springfield, IL 62704). Your own “Your postcode” field prints as a separate last line, so for a US return address leave it empty and type the ZIP code on the city line.
- Which envelope size should I choose?
- DL (110 × 220 mm) takes an A4 letter folded in three, C5 (162 × 229 mm) an A4 sheet folded once, and US #10 (4⅛ × 9½ in) a US Letter sheet folded in three. Each page of the PDF is the size of the envelope itself.
- Is there a footer on the free plan?
- No. These pages never carry one.
